The George Barrett Cement House Renovation Project is an energetic endeavor to retain a piece of important history to the community of Spring Valley, Ohio. In 1993 the house, then a 3 unit apartment building, was purchased from a local resident. The house had been abandon for three years and was in the serious danger of being demolished as a result of extreme neglect. In 1986 the property was appointed to the National Register of Historic Places by the Ohio Historic Society.
